Public works

The term “public works” applies to public infrastructure.

Some very large buildings are considered public works (airports, nuclear power stations, military structures, stadiums).

Public works contractors are generally persons governed by public law (state or local authorities). In France, they are then subject to the Code of Public Procurement and their litigation falls under administrative law.

There is also talk of public works for projects of the same nature under private project management, supermarket car parks, factory roads, etc.
